Institutional Partnerships

We collaborate with diverse organizations, including community groups, institutions, and hospitals across Chicagoland, to advance our mission. As the aging and dementia hub at the University of Chicago, we work closely with various University of Chicago and UChicago Medicine organizations to uphold a longstanding commitment to community engagement.

4th Ward Alderman’s Office

Chicago’s 4th Ward is represented by Alderman Lamont J. Robinson and includes neighborhoods on the South Side, such as parts of Bronzeville, Kenwood, and Hyde Park. The alderman addresses constituent concerns, facilitates community development, and represents the ward’s interests in the Chicago City Council. Residents can visit the official City of Chicago website for more information about services, news, and events.

Academy of Neurologic Communication Disorders (ANCDS)

The Academy of Neurologic Communication Disorders and Sciences (ANCDS) is a professional organization that supports specialists working with individuals affected by neurologic communication disorders. ANCDS provides resources, training, and certification programs to promote high-quality, evidence-based care and improve communication outcomes for affected individuals. 

Alzheimer’s Association

The Alzheimer’s Association is dedicated to supporting those affected by Alzheimer’s and dementia through advocacy, research, and resources. The organization provides educational tools, a 24/7 helpline, and community support to patients, caregivers, and families while also funding critical research to advance understanding and treatment of Alzheimer’s disease. 

Association of Frontotemporal Degeneration (AFTD)

The Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration (AFTD) works to improve quality of life for individuals affected by frontotemporal degeneration (FTD) and to advance research toward effective treatments and a cure. AFTD offers resources, support networks, and education for patients, families, and caregivers while promoting FTD awareness and funding essential research.

FTD Registry

The FTD Disorders Registry is an online database that gathers information from individuals affected by frontotemporal degeneration (FTD) and their families. This registry empowers patients, caregivers, and families to contribute to research that advances understanding and treatment of FTD, helping scientists develop effective therapies and work toward a cure. 

Hall Chicago Public Library

The Chicago Public Library (CPL) provides accessible learning, literacy, and cultural programs for Chicago’s communities. With a network of branches across the city, CPL offers books, digital resources, educational programs, and community events, supporting lifelong learning and inclusivity for residents of all ages.

IL Chapter of Alzheimer’s Association

The Alzheimer’s Association Illinois Chapter provides local support and resources for individuals and families affected by Alzheimer’s and dementia. In addition to offering education, support groups, and a 24/7 helpline, this chapter advocates for dementia research and policies that improve quality of life for Illinois residents impacted by memory-related conditions.

Michaels Housing Corporation

National Aphasia Association

The National Aphasia Association (NAA) supports individuals with aphasia, a communication disorder affecting language processing, and their families. NAA provides resources, educational programs, and a network of support to improve quality of life and increase awareness, helping individuals navigate the challenges of living with aphasia.

Rosenwald Court Senior Apartments

Rosenwald Courts is a historic apartment community in Chicago’s Bronzeville neighborhood, offering modern one and two-bedroom apartments with amenities like granite countertops, central air conditioning, and in-unit laundry. The community features a private two-acre courtyard, fitness room, and adjacent retail and office spaces. Originally built in 1929 by philanthropist Julius Rosenwald to provide housing for the growing Black middle class, the complex has housed notable residents such as Nat King Cole, Quincy Jones, and Joe Louis. After extensive renovations, Rosenwald Courts now offers 239 apartments for families and seniors, blending historic charm with contemporary living.

World FTD United

World FTD United brings together organizations globally to support individuals affected by frontotemporal degeneration (FTD) and to raise awareness of this condition. Through international collaboration, it promotes education, advocacy, and community support, aiming to improve diagnosis, treatment, and research for FTD worldwide.
