Advocacy & Awareness
Our Commitment to Advocacy
The HAARC Center is an advocate for individuals affected by age-related cognitive changes and neurodegenerative conditions. Our advocacy spans from pioneering research to community outreach, ensuring that scientific discoveries translate into meaningful improvements in people’s lives.
We advocate for evidence-based approaches that promote cognitive resilience and resistance to age-related decline, Alzheimer’s disease, and related dementias (ADRD). By investigating exceptional cognitive aging (i.e., SuperAgers) and developing innovative interventions, we’re challenging assumptions about what’s possible as we age.
Our SuperAging research examines multiple facets of brain health and function, seeking to identify factors that contribute to maintained cognitive abilities despite advancing age. This knowledge forms the foundation of our advocacy efforts, informing both clinical practice and public policy.
We amplify the voices of individuals and families affected by ADRD, ensuring their experiences and needs remain central to research priorities and resource development. By bridging the gap between science and lived experience, we create more effective, person-centered approaches to cognitive health.

Raising Awareness
Awareness is fundamental to our mission at the HAARC Center. We believe that informed communities make better health decisions, support research advancements, and create environments where cognitive wellbeing is prioritized at all stages of life.
Our educational initiatives translate complex research into accessible knowledge that empowers individuals to take an active role in their brain health. From community presentations to digital resources, we share evidence-based information about cognitive aging, protective factors, Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias (ADRD).
We’re working to shift public perception about aging and cognition, challenging the notion that decline is inevitable and highlighting the brain’s remarkable capacity for resilience. By sharing stories of individuals who maintain cognitive vitality into advanced age, we offer hope and new perspectives.
Our awareness initiatives extend beyond the individual to address systemic factors that impact brain health across populations. By advocating for environments and policies that support cognitive wellbeing and care for ADRD, we work toward a future where healthy aging is accessible to all.
